RAPPERS IN REAL LIFE: Cool On Cupid..

So leading up to Valentines day, I was feeling muy bueno about having no date nor any plans for our celebration of the day of love. I had been traveling and performing and working so much lately, that I haven't even met anybody new that I could consider a love interest...But in the back of my mind for about the last month, I had an idea that I would be with someone new and we would have a first date on valentines (isn't that nice, i'm being sarcastic)...I'll be damned if it didn't happen...
So the Thursday prior to, I get a phone call from this model that I met and one of my shows in Atlanta. We talk, and trade compliments...and she begins to tell me how the last five years' her valentines days didn't amount to much. She even told me a story where she found out that her BF at the time was cheating on her, and of course she found out that lovely piece of information ON none other than Valentine's DAY...and how much she would REALLY like to have a great Valentines' Day for once and break the cycle..
Meanwhile, I'm having reservations because I'm also hearing the subtle hint of "take me out for valentines and it'll be worth your while"...I'm paraphrasing, but you catch the drift...What I haven't mentioned thus far was that Valentines Day is 1) My parents wedding anniversary, and 2)My younger sisters birthday (Note to potential suitors: Please don't attempt to block time spent with my family or other things I love. I don't expect you to share my enthusiam, just don't hate...its a turn off)...
Nonetheless, although I'm feeling like she is putting the weight of the last 5 valentines' on our first date (OMG), and I think my time table for the day is gonna be crazy tight...I agreed to go out with her...
I knew it then it wasn't gonna work, but I said to myself convincingly, hey I haven't been out in a while...I'm single. I don't have a show tonight, so why not???
So while in the process of planning our date, I come to terms with the fact that I can't think of a single good idea...Which is unlike me, normally I would know where I wanted to go before we hung up the phone...(that shoulda been a sign too)..
So Sat morning, before I left to go pick up all the flowers and gifts and cards for my sisters and parents, and in between V-Day texts to those I wont be seeing...I'm still feeling uneasy about the whole thing...Sooooooo, I hit her up to ask if it would be cool if we could go out on another day. Like I expected, she blew up at me, cussed me out, and told me to have a good night alone. I could have lied or something, but its just not my style...I swear since I have been in Atlanta, I have been cussed out a few times over not taking someone out, not having sex with them, not calling enough...etc. Some people reading this may find it hard to believe, others are probably hoping I don't be so bold as to name them or tell their stories. (no one's on blast tonight) But I'm trying to do the best I can, it was an unfortunate occurrence, and I felt I should be real and let her know. She just didn't like what I had to say. Oh well...
I hit Utopia around midnight and did my thing, but I ended up spending my Valentines' with a pretty girl who just turned 11 and loves her new outfit (I got her FRESH like a pillow with a mint on it!!!)
Do I regret it? Not a bit. 1)I spent my entire day with people I love and wanted to be around. 2)I didn't feel forced into any situations. and 3)I got to make sure that my sisters first real roses came from a man that loves them, not someone who will take advantage of them...and thats muy bueno to me...
I'm a Rapper in Real Life and that's how I feel about it...

RAPPERS IN REAL LIFE - Being Thankful On Thanksgiving

N THE DAYS LEADING UP TO THANKSGIVING...IM THINKING THAT WE ALL SHOULD BE THINKING ABOUT THE THINGS THAT WE ARE THANKFUL FOR. WHICH SHOULD BE THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO US. I MOVED TO ATLANTA FROM NASHVILLE AT THE VERY TOP OF THE SUMMER THIS YEAR. SHORTLY AFTER MOVING HERE I ENDED A SERIOUS RELATIONSHIP WITH A WOMAN I WAS TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH. HEARTBROKEN, BUT NOT WILLING TO SHOW IT TO THE NAKED EYE, I MOVED FORWARD, RECOGNIZING THAT ANOTHER CHAPTER IN MY LIFE HAD BEEN CLOSED, AND THAT A NEW ONE HAD BEGAN. BUT I MUST ADMIT, I LOVED THIS WOMAN DEEPLY, BUT I WASN'T HEARTBROKEN FOR LONG...I FELL IN LOVE AGAIN, THIS TIME WITH TWO WOMEN. NOW ONE OF THE PERKS IN ME MOVING HERE WAS BEING ABLE TO BE CLOSER TO MY FAMILY. AND I HAVE ENJOYED THAT TIME, MEANWHILE I HAVE ALSO ENJOYED THE WOMEN THAT I'VE GONE OUT WITH, LAID UP WITH, ETC, ETC. BY NOW YOU MUST BE WONDERING WHAT THE HELL MY ESCAPADES WITH LADIES HAS TO DO WITH THANKSGIVING...WELL, I TOLD U EARLIER THAT I FELL IN LOVE WITH TWO WOMEN. I DIDN'T TELL YOU THAT THOSE WOMEN WERE MY YOUNGER SISTERS. AGES 11 AND 12. WE'VE LIVED IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE COUNTRY UP UNTIL NOW AND BEING ABLE TO BE CLOSE TO THEM AND SEE THEM LEARN AND GROW AND DEVELOP FROM THAT OF ADOLESCENTS INTO TEENAGERS MAKES ME HAPPY. IM THANKFUL THAT I HAVE THIS TIME AND OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE MY VOICE ON THE CONVERSATION OF THEIR MATURITY. THAT I CAN IMPACT THEIR LIVES, THAT THEY ARE JUST AS HAPPY TO SPEND TIME WITH ME AS I AM WITH THEM. NO MATTER HOW GROWN THEY LIKE TO THINK THEY ARE! LOL...ITS FUNNY BECAUSE I THINK THEY HEALED MY HEART BEFORE IT REALLY HAD A CHANCE TO BREAK...SO MUCH SO THAT ALL THE OTHER WOMEN THAT WANT TO GET UP WITH ME, FALL TO BE JUST A DISTANT ACQUAINTANCE...OH WELL, SORRY LADIES THAT'S JUST HOW IT GOES. AND THAT'S HOW I FEEL ABOUT. MY NAME IS BIG KEV, AND IM THE RAPPER IN REAL LIFE...

RAPPERS IN REAL LIFE: Letter to Ayjah from Me and B5

Okay here's the story...I promised my younger sister that I would take her trick or treating, and in the midst of me running back and forth to take over the world...I forgot. She actualy called me while I was on my way out of town...OUCH! So to make it up to her, I met up with one of her favorite groups backstage at Taylords' The Showcase of the South. RAPPERS IN REAL LIFE: Boris Kodjoe

So Check I'm at the W in one of the clubs in Atlanta, chilling with one of homies doing me right...I turn to the right and look...i see like 9 ridiculously gorgeous females staring at me hard, with lust in their eyes...It was like a fantasy or something! they all fanning themselves and getting moist and I'm like damn! Instantly, confidence is off the meter! I turn to my homeboy, I'm like "yo! I don't why you brought me here, but I'm glad you did dude they ON me! You gotta come get in on this one! Don't look though, you gotta play this one cool aight!!!..Its a whole gang of them going outta control to the right"...He said "Yo dog, did you know you were about the same height as Boris Kodjoe?" I'm like "yo, wtf are you talking about???! I'm not worried about Boris Kodjoe right now. Did you hear what I just told you?? He said, "sorry homie...he just walked in the club...he's right behind you...."

I look at him, he look at me, I look at my homie, he look at me, I look at the ladies, they look through me....damn...even IF I was the Ace...Boris brought the Big Joker...

Moral to the story...You should believe that you are the sh*t at all times, just know that everyone doesn't have to feel the same way...lol Boris if you're reading this, I owe you a drink next time homie...

RAPPERS IN REAL LIFE: Tornado in Atlanta

I don’t know how this is possible. Let me spell it out for you. A major tornado drops out of the sky directly onto one of the countrys’ biggest cities, and there is no warning what so ever. There were tornados that swept thru west tennessee a few weeks ago, they knew prior to, and were able send out the appropriate warnings. So how does it occur that a tornado can drop out of the sky just like one of those robotical arms that u aim to pick a stuffed animal out of the toybox.

Its kind of ironic that the tornado seems like it did the most damage to the CNN building...

Okay let me further explain before I sound like a dumb ass...I just don’t see how we are starting to have so many damn mistakes behind the control board. I feel like we really do have homer simpson asleep at his desk, every single time there is a major emergency where lives are at stake. How are all of our warning systems seeming to fail at the exact moment that we need them. Don’t we test them or something??!!! wtf...
